About EJTV Art

For as long as I can remember, Henk Helmantel was always present in our home. Not that my parents could afford a piece of his work, but reproductions of his works hung on the wall and books about Henk were on the shelves. I didn't care much for them myself. When my parents retired and, due to my mother's chronic illness, were increasingly confined to the house, I thought long and hard about what I could do to brighten their days in the difficult years that lay ahead. And that's when the idea came to me. I should buy a Helmantel for them. It turned out to be three, and they brought exactly what I had hoped for. They enjoyed what my father called 'the museum'. The effect of Henk's work also made my own appreciation grow. And so I first became an admirer and then an investor in Henk's works. Initially, more in the background. I occasionally lent works to reputable art dealers to present at important fairs, such as TEFAF or PAN Amsterdam. From them, I learned how the art trade works; from Henk himself, I learned to see. EJTV Art was established in 2019. I created my website, which allowed me to share my hobby with other enthusiasts and those interested in Henk's work. Things then moved quickly. In 2025, the 100th Helmantel found its way to a new owner via EJTV Art. At the request of collectors, in 2025, I cautiously began to add other realistic works. This marked the beginning of a new chapter. Because I don't live off it and also don't have gallery costs, the market quickly found me. I buy works above the price a seller retains if they offer a work through auction, and almost always above the price art dealers offer. For the buyer, the same advantage applies.
