That Delft White objects are among Henk Helmantel's preferences is immediately clear from this painting. Delft White utilitarian objects are preferred over the often ostentatious and more luxurious Delft Blue. The damage to the edges therefore shows that the objects have indeed been used. The entire work is brought under tension with just two rosehips. In other words, a typical Helmantel.
