About this work
Small but exquisite. It is sometimes said that you can measure the quality of a painter by how he paints hands and eggs. Eggs are evidently quite a challenge. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Henk Helmantel demonstrates that he possesses the technique to paint eggs. On this very small work, he has succeeded admirably.
