The work featuring the wine bottle and bread immediately stands out due to its use of color. Henk Helmantel took a beautiful 17th-century cat's head from his museum collection as his starting point. The green glass features a beautiful golden-brown iridescence. This effect was caused by lying underground for centuries in an iron-rich environment. Henk combines this with the bread, incorporating the same colors. The color choices for the background and the table create a sense of unity and a unique atmosphere. A typical Helmantel piece, yet a special one at that.
