Museum More organised a special exhibition about the continuation of the great Dutch art tradition. Henk Helmantel was among them, alongside Dick Ket, Floris Verster, and Jan Mankes. Dick Ket is known for his typical perspectives. He carefully arranged his still lifes on the floor of his room, looking at his composition from above. He had to, as he was confined to his home due to a severe heart condition. Although entirely in his own style, a number of floor compositions can be found in Henk's oeuvre. The Floor Composition with Clay Pipe, Bowl, and Green Bottle is a beautiful example of this. The work is grand and impressive. The sharpness of the bowl and the reflection of the glass draw the viewer into the work. Looking turns into admiration. It belongs on a museum wall, or at home with a true connoisseur.
