About this work
This is typically Helmantel. Henk has a fondness for Romanesque architecture. Jerichow Monastery is a gem. So Henk set off on his moped (he has neither a driving licence nor a mobile phone) for Saxony-Anhalt, a good 500 km to the east. Within a few weeks, he made several drawings, including of this remarkable crypt, built from the year 1172. The work turned out particularly well. The light is soft and playful and perfectly captured.
